McKie Campbell, Commissioner Press Release, No. 05-044: November 4, 2005 Contact: Kristy Tibbles, Executive Director of the Board of Game, at (907) 465-4110 Board of Game to Meet in Kotzebue, November 11-14 (Anchorage) – The Alaska Board of Game will meet November 11-14, 2005 in Kotzebue at the National Guard Armory to consider over 40 proposals regarding hunting and trapping regulations in the Arctic and Western regions, among other topics. Proposals have been submitted by the Department of Fish and Game, state advisory committees, and the general public seeking adjustments to hunting and trapping regulations in the Arctic and Western regions. Issues to be addressed by the board include methods and means for hunting and trapping, and hunting seasons and bag limits for moose, muskoxen, brown bear, wolf, caribou and small game in Game Management Units (GMUs) 18, 22, 23, and 26A. The board will also have an informal meeting Saturday evening to listen to public concerns regarding user issues in GMU 23. The board will take oral public testimony beginning Friday, November 11. Anyone wishing to testify before the board must sign up at the meeting site before the announced deadline. Public testimony will continue until everyone who has signed up has been given the opportunity to be heard. Written comments will be accepted on specific proposals up until the proposal is deliberated. Written comments may be faxed to (907) 465-6094. Deliberations on the proposals will begin following public testimony
