Staff Positions - August 2009

Program Manager (Program Coordinator II):  Peter Bangs

Peter is the AKSSF program manager.  Activities include overall program management, liaison with NOAA, and supervision of the Program Facilitator.

Program Facilitator (Grants Administrator III):  Debbie Maas

Debbie assists with overall management of the AKSSF program and supervises the four staff members listed below.  She can assist with any AKSSF related inquiries and is responsible for approving invoices, tracking earmark and project balances, foreign travel and ADF&G equipment requests, and project close outs.  She also manages the close out of the PCSRF grants and, consequently, the close out of each AKSSF project and earmark funded by it.

Project Coordinator (Grants Administrator II):  Cecelia Curtis

Cecelia’s primary duty is the processing of AKSSF statements of work--every statement of work will cross her desk before being processed.  She is the first point of contact for submission of new earmark projects and all project revisions and will work directly with PIs while editing and reviewing statements of work.

Diane also processes statements of work and she, too, will work directly with PIs while editing and reviewing them.  Diane also assists with the review of invoices and will contact PIs with invoice inquiries.

Project Technician (Grants Administrator I):  Molly McCafferty

Molly is responsible for soliciting and editing semiannual reports and will contact PIs twice yearly to gather them and follow up with questions or edits.  She will also begin soliciting and editing project completion reports. 

Performance Coordinator (Grants Administrator I):   Vacant
This position is responsible for soliciting NOAA’s performance metrics, contacting PIs at the beginning and end of projects for preliminary and final metrics.  The incumbent will also gather metrics for closed projects dating to the inception of AKSSF.  This position will assist with Science Panel and Expert Panel meetings and track projects by AKSSF goal/information need/actions, often seeking information from PIs for goal-related information and assisting with panel activities.
